Introduction of sheet metal hot-forming

Blank hot forming is a new technology which is realized by heating the advanced high strength steel to Austenitic phase,quick stamping,and quenching in die during press holding to meet the required cooling speed.By this new forming technology,the phase of the parts can be changed to martensite,and the strength of the parts can be about 1500MPa.In this paper,Key equipments,key technology,advantage and disadvantage of blank hot forming are introduced,and the application status and trends is proposed.

The application and development of advanced shot peen forming technologies

SIMULATION OF SPRINGBACK IN SHEET METAL FORMING

This paper expounds the research history and development situation of springback numerical simulation for sheet metal forming.The algorithm of springbcak simulation and the main factors affecting on its precision and convergence are analyzed from two aspects of forming process simulation and springback calculation.The approaches to improve the precision of springback simulation are pointed out.In the end,the methods of springback compensation for design of die are discussed.

The research situation and the developing tendency of creep age forming technology

Creep age forming(CAF) is a combined forming and ageing heat treatment process.Starting from the principle and the characteristics of the creep age forming process,the research situation and the developing tendency on the key technologies,such as tool surface optimisation based on the springback,forming tools,the effect of the creep age forming on mechnical properties and microstructural evolution,development of novel damage tolerant alloys are detailed introduced in this paper.Finally,based on the existing research situation and the requirements for developing the large airplane in China,some suggestions and research emphasis on developing creep age forming technologies are pointed out.

ased on the typical forming process, physical process and mechanical model of sheet metal forming, it is discussed in this paper that the history and recent development on the numerical simulation of sheet metal forming processes, which include the history of the simulation of forming process and forming defects,material model and shell model, solution of the problems of contact and friction, and the application in the auto -body panel forming. Finally, it has been pointed out the trends of the numerical simulation of sheet metal forming.

THE FE SIMULATION RESEARCH OF CONTACT & FRICTION PROCESSES IN SHEET METAL FORMING

In this paper,first FE simulation algorithms for contact search,contact constraint,and the calculation of contact and friction loads were established based on the analysis for contact friction problem in sheet metal forming.Then the FE simulation model for contact friction problem in sheet metal forming was set up.At last,the efficiency & stability of this model was proved to be satisfactory by the comparing numerical example and experiment results of skin stretch forming.

Advances in control of unequal deformation by locally loading and theories related to precision plastic forming

Research on control of unequal deformation and theories related to precision plastic forming is not only one of the key and challenging subjects in frontiers of advanced plastic forming,but also the urgently needs of the development of aero-space high technology.In this project,beginning with realizing in-plane bending under local unequal loading,which is difficult to form using conventional methods,the theory and technology is developed for realizing precision plastic forming processes by controlling unequal deformation,which provides an important inspiration for solving difficult problems of forming and manufacturing large-scale complex integral components of titanium alloy.Numerical models are established for predicting wrinkling onset,springback,cross section distortion,and for analyzing and determining forming limit in NC thin-walled tube bending processes,and methods are developed for process simulation and optimization design;effect laws of key factors on the process are revealed.3D-FE process simulation models are established for multi-pass conventional spinning,curved thin-walled shell spinning,power spinning with hoop inner rib.Methods are proposed for solving complex forming defects produced by unequal deformation and roller-trace optimization design.The effects of temperature and velocity and their controls under coupled thermo-mechanical effects with multi-factors and multi-physical fields are solved in isothermal extrusion processes for large-size aluminium profiles,which are important and difficult problems to be urgently solved in the research and development of advanced isothermal extrusion theory and technology.3D-FE simulation models are developed for complex cold ring rolling process,and an analytic-numerical method for ascertaining the critical friction coefficient for stable rolling process;three kinds of plastic deformation behaviors during cold ring rolling process and effects of multi-factors on the process are found;a robust integration algorithm for implementing rate dependent crystal plasticity into explicit FEM are proposed and Macro-deformation are described by Micro-reflect in cold ring rolling process.The achievements of this study are of significance to developing advanced theory and technology of precision plastic forming for thin-walled and large-scale complex components.
